Crawley Town FC host second South Coast Regional Forum

On 15th September 2016, Crawley Town FC and Crawley Town Disabled Supporters Association (DSA) hosted the second South Coast Regional Forum at Checkatrade Stadium.

The event was organised by Level Playing Field Project Coordinator, Kieran Reynolds and Crawley DSA Chair Barbara Robinson. The objective of the forum is to provide a medium where individual DSAs and club representatives can network and share best practise.

There was representation from Level Playing Field, Crawley Town DSA, Crawley Community Foundation, Portsmouth FC, Portsmouth DSA, Brighton and Hove Albion FC, AFC Bournemouth and Southampton DSA.

Presentations were given by Level Playing Field, Crawley DSA, Crawley Community Foundation, Portsmouth DSA and Southampton DSA.

The South Coast forum was established as part of Level Playing Field’s Working Together Project. The first South Coast forum was hosted by Portsmouth in September 2015.

Forum minutes can be found here and a summary can be found here.

LPF Project Coordinator Kieran Reynolds said, “I would like to thank Crawley Town DSA and Crawley Town FC for hosting the event. It was pleasing to see the forum continue to develop and clubs and DSAs continue to network and share best practice”.

LPF General Manager Ruth Hopkins said, “I was delighted to be invited to speak at the South Coast Forum this year and would like to thank Kieran and Barbara for all their hard work in putting together a successful event. The regional forums are proving very popular as DSAs and club representatives come together to share their experiences and we are looking to extend them across the country”.

Crawley Town DSA Chair Barbara Robinson said, “We were delighted to welcome the clubs from our region and representatives from their DSAs to Crawley Town. I welcome the opportunity to share knowledge and experience with so many dedicated people who are working hard to improve the matchday experience of disabled fans”
