Swans Disabled Supporters Association

Swansea City FC and the Swansea City Supporters Trust are pleased to announce a new initiative for the 2012/13 season. Following a period of consultation with the club’s disabled fan base steps have been taken to form an independent Disabled Supporters Association.

The Association’s aim is to act as a link between Swansea City Football Club and its Disabled fan-base. SCFC DSA will represent ALL disabled supporters and will provide representation for disabled fans to address concerns and problems directly relating to their match day experiences.

They would like to invite any disabled supporter, carers, support groups and any other interested individuals who would like the opportunity to serve on the DSA or to join the Association to attend the first Annual General Meeting scheduled for the afternoon of Friday 1st February 2013 (further details will be released shortly.)

The DSA’s initial constitution has been drawn up by a steering committee set up following the launch meeting earlier last year. Details of the structure of the DSA and its remit will also be available at the A.G.M and on request.

In order to form the full DSA committee Swansea City wish to invite people interested in taking up the following positions to send a short pen picture detailing the position(s) they wish to apply for outlining the skills and experience that they can bring to the role:

·Chairman ·Vice-Chairman ·Secretary ·Treasurer ·Media/Press/Marketing Secretary ·Membership Secretary ·2 co-opted members also will also need to be elected onto the DSA

If you are interested in being considered for election to one of the positions on the DSA, please e-mail Swansea City Disability officer Ian James on ianjames@swanseacityfc.co.uk  for further information and details of the election process.

Should you require any more information about the new SCFC DSA please also contact Ian James. Swansea City hope the new DSA will help enhance the match day experience for SCFC loyal disabled fans.
