Weeks of Action: Level Playing Field signs up to the Mental Health Charter for Sport & Recreation
Level Playing Field is delighted to be signing up to the Mental Health Charter for Sport & Recreation, coinciding with our Weeks of Action Mental Health Awareness day (8th April 2016).
The Mental Health Charter for Sport and Recreation sets out how sport can use its collective power to tackle mental ill health and the stigma that surrounds it.
Ruth Hopkins, Level Playing Field General Manager & Head of Access & Development said, “Level Playing Field is delighted to sign up to the Mental Health Charter for Sport. Sport is an incredibly powerful means to tackle the stigma that surrounds mental health and we pledge to take positive steps to encourage people to be open about mental health problems. In the work we do each and every day, we see the huge social benefits that simply attending a sports event can have, and we commit to promoting best practice and inclusion for sports fans with mental health problems amongst our members and stakeholders.”
