SAFEGUARDING & WELFARE SUPPORT OFFICER VACANCY

Individual Required to Help Deliver Detailed Strategy

 

A Safeguarding & Welfare Support Officer is required to join the Essex County FA’s team in Chelmsford to provide proactive support and administration and help deliver the Safeguarding Operating Standard and a detailed strategy, with applications needed by 11th September.

 

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include supporting the Designated Safeguarding Officer with safeguarding cases across Essex. They’ll also organise and administer workshops for the department as well as monitoring and managing compliance, assisting in managing poor practice cases, working with club volunteers and supporting safeguarding visits.

Position: Grassroots Reporting Officer

Responsible to: Grassroots Manager

Salary: £28,000

Office: Kick It Out Office, Central London

 

Objectives

 

  1. To be part of a team responsible for the implementation and delivery of Kick It Out’s work at a grassroots level, particularly in relation to reports of discrimination in grassroots football.

 

  1. To work closely with the Grassroots Manager and Northern Grassroots Officer to implement and enhance reporting processes and procedures within grassroots football.

 

  1. To work in partnership with The Football Association and the County FAs to support players, spectators and grassroots clubs through the process of reporting to ensure transparency, increased levels of satisfaction and timely resolutions.

 

  1. To help football address issues of discrimination within grassroots football and to reduce the risk of incidents occurring through training, communication and the development of reporting procedures.

 

  1. Promote the different mechanisms of reporting for players, participants, spectators and grassroots clubs; thus increasing knowledge and opportunities of reporting.

 

  1. Development of appropriate campaigns around social media, engagement and reporting upon analysis of complaints received and arising issues.

 

 

Specific Functions and Responsibilities

 

  1. Monitor and manage all complaints of discrimination reported within grassroots football, utilising systems to record all data and correspondence.

 

  1. Produce regular analysis reports to identify the number and type of complaints received for the Trustees and relevant stakeholders.

 

  1. Working closely with Kick It Out’s communications team, the Grassroots Manager and the Northern Grassroots Officer to promote the organisation’s reporting mechanisms within grassroots football, in particular the Kick It Out App.

 

  1. Support training, development and awareness of reporting procedures at County FAs and grassroots clubs.

 

  1. Support individual complainants through the reporting process, and where required act in an advocacy role and/or demonstrating conflict resolution.

 

  1. Organise regular meetings with The Football Association and, where appropriate, County FAs to update on individual cases and the sharing of best practice examples.

 

  1. Develop bespoke education and rehabilitation programmes for offenders within grassroots football.

 

  1. Monitor, record and process incidents of discrimination which occur via social media and develop subsequent publicity campaigns; working closely with the Police, Crown Prosecution Service, True Vision, service providers and County FAs.

  1. Promote the different mechanisms of reporting for participants, fans and clubs thus increasing knowledge and opportunities of reporting.
