Barnsley celebrate Weeks of Action 2015

Barnsley celebrated Level Playing Field’s Weeks of Action 2015 with a fantastic day of activities on the 18th April.

Before the Tykes League 1 match at home to Peterborough, both Barnsley FC Community Trust disability football team and Barnsley Tykes FC played in a football festival on the 3G pitch. Both of these clubs offer a fantastic opportunity for disabled people to play football on a regular basis and much fun was had by all on a beautifully sunny day in South Yorkshire.

Afterwards the participants were invited on to the pitch at Oakwell for photographs and to sample the matchday atmosphere. Prior to the match, Wales international Lewin Nyatanga and Jack Cowgill wore LPF t-shirts in support of the Weeks of Action campaign whilst warming up for an eventual 1-1 draw with Peterborough.
