BBC In Touch Programme: The experience of blind and partially sighted football fans

BBC Radio 4’s In Touch programme included a feature on the experience of blind and partially sighted football fans. (18th April)

The programme followed LPF member Jeff Newall on his experience following his team MK Dons at an away match, discussing the facilities and barriers he encounters whilst watching live football as a partially sighted supporter, including the provision of audio descriptive commentary.

This was followed by an interview with Level Playing Field Chair, Tony Taylor where he spoke of the importance of stadia being fully accessible for all disabled supporters, including blind and partially sighted fans, and not just focussing solely on access for wheelchair users.
