Everton fans start campaign to give young fan best 12th birthday ever

A social media appeal for Everton fans to give an 11-year-old boy the best birthday ever has been shared thousands of times.

Noah Cunningham has Duchenne muscular dystrophy and is a wheelchair user. He celebrates his 12th birthday on Saturday, and he will spend the afternoon at Goodison Park, watching the Blues take on Dagenham and Redbridge F.C.

‘Everton Blue Army’ a Facebook fan page for the Blues, has posted a status encouraging other fans to bring birthday cards for him and wish him many happy returns.

Part of the message reads: “Noah is a devoted Everton fan, he sits in space 11 in the park end, at the front in his chair. He is there come hail, rain of shine to support Everton. By taking the time to pass him a card or wish him ‘Happy Birthday’, you can make his birthday even better and make him feel special. Noah has a life-limiting disability and every birthday his family spend with him is priceless”.

Birthday cards for Noah can be left at the Park End reception. Supporter liaison officer Christine Prior will pass them onto Noah at the game on Saturday. The post has also been shared by Liverpool fans, as well as those who support teams further afield.
