Gillingham FC set to form Disabled Supporters Association

Level Playing Field’s Working Together Project Coordinator Kieran Reynolds & Administration and Communications Officer Chris Summersell visited Priestfield stadium on July 15th to promote the setup of a new Disabled Supporters Association (DSA) at Gillingham Football Club.

The club invited a group of disabled fans to a meeting where Kieran gave a presentation outlining the benefits of setting up a DSA. The presentation was positively received by the clubs disabled fans and Level Playing Field will now support the formation of a steering group who will be tasked with setting up the new DSA.

Gillingham DSA is set to be the twelfth DSA to be established during Level Playing Field’s Working Together project. The initiative been backed by Gillingham FC, Gillingham FC Community trust and Kent FA.

Working Together Project Coordinator Kieran Reynolds said, “I would like to thank the team at Gillingham Football Club for organising the meeting and would also like Gillingham FC Community Trust and Kent FA for their support. We were delighted that the DSA presentation was well received by the fans present. We believe that this is positive news for Gillingham’s disabled fans and a positive step towards improving their match day experience. I look forward to supporting the steering group during the setup of the new DSA”
