Hodgson encouraged by Unite For Access participation

Level Playing Field Patron, Roy Hodgson, has shared his delight at the level of involvement from across football, in the 2024 ‘Unite For Access’ campaign.

This year’s celebrations of access and inclusion for disabled sport fans, saw the strongest ever engagement from Premier League and EFL clubs.

There was also positive activity across the women’s game, non-league football and the Welsh leagues.

Hodgson said: “It has been very encouraging to see fans and clubs come together in so many ways over the past couple of weeks, to mark our ‘Unite For Access’ campaign.

“The level of awareness is so valuable in our efforts to improve the matchday experiences of disabled fans, to ensure everyone can enjoy the game we all care so deeply about.

“Having our strongest ever participation from clubs across the Premier League and EFL is extremely positive, and I ask those clubs to build on their work in recent weeks.

“I am optimistic that we can capitalise on this appetite for improved access and inclusion, in what is shaping up to be an important year for the charity.”

More than 120 teams took part in Level Playing Field’s ‘Unite For Access’ campaign, which ran from February 24 to March 10.

Level Playing Field is grateful to all of the fans, disabled supporters’ associations and clubs that took part, and for the support of its partners, including the Premier League, EFL, FA, FAW and National League.

The charity is in discussions with organisations across other sports, regarding their celebrations of access and inclusion.
