Level Playing Field Pub Quiz

On Tuesday 31 March, Level Playing Field will be hosting its first Twitter #LPFPubQuiz to provide a little entertainment and virtual community for its followers who might be in need of some social interaction during this period of uncertainty, join us at @lpftweets!

Half of disabled people admit they’re lonely and 25% feel lonely every day according to the disability charity ‘Sense’.

We at Level Playing Field know that for some, the opportunity to go and watch live sport can be their only opportunity to engage with another person.

For lots of supporters, the postponement of live sport is having a significant impact on their mental and possible physical health. The sense of belonging and community that sport can give has been taken away.

That’s why from Tuesday 31st March at 2pm, Level Playing Field will be holding a sporting pub quiz and will continue to do so every Tuesday at 2 pm until live sport is finally back!

We are doing this to provide a little entertainment and virtual community spirit in this unusual time for all sport fans but in particular for the isolated disabled fans.

The #LPFPubQuiz (which will be the official twitter hashtag) will also be an opportunity for all sport lovers to gain some knowledge around disability, access and language.

Tony Taylor, Chair of Level Playing Field said:

“Disabled fans have had a huge part of their social life taken away from them and watching live sport offered them an opportunity to feel connect and a part of their community.

We are looking at a range of activities headed up by our Fans Liaison Officer Liam Bird and the team at Level Playing Field to offer support and to reach out in a variety of innovative ways and we are delighted to continue doing this through this weekly quiz.

We are seeing clubs across the country, reaching out to their fans and offering support. We urge people to continue to do so whilst also staying safe and following appropriate guidance.”

The #LPFPubQuiz is open to all and will start at 2pm, each question will be tweeted out via Level Playing Field Twitter page (@lpftweets).

How it’s going to work

There will be 3 rounds

  • General Sport Knowledge
  • Disability access’s and language
  • Picture round

The quiz will take no longer than 30 minutes.

We will be using an honour system, so no cheating! Cheaters don’t prevail… apart from Diego Maradona!

We will ask all participants to mark up their own answer sheets, then take a photo of their score and tweet the photo back to @lpftweets using the #LPFPubQuiz.

Winners will be announced at 3 pm on the same day.

GOOD LUCK!
