Level Playing Field responds to social media post shared by Aston Villa Chief Executive

Level Playing Field would like to express concern that Aston Villa Chief Executive, Keith Wyness recently shared a Twitter post that was discriminatory towards disabled people.

Wyness, who has since deleted the retweet, has apologised claiming it was a mistake and did not see the comment attached to the original tweeted video.

Level Playing Field Chair, Tony Taylor said: “It is concerning that a social media post discriminating towards disabled people was shared by a Chief Executive of a high profile football club. We are pleased that this has since been deleted, but sharing such a post is particularly ill advised and does no credit to anyone involved. Once again we need to make clear that disability discrimination should be seen as equal to all forms of discrimination, and that it is always totally unacceptable.
