Liverpool FC launch a sensory room at Anfield

Level Playing Field are delighted that Liverpool have joined the growing number of clubs to provide an environment that enables supporters with sensory disabilities to enjoy attending live matches.

The new equipment includes a bubble tube, a fibre optic carpet and LED bean bag.

You can see photos of people with sensory disabilities, such as autism, and their families enjoying the new facility on Liverpool’s website here

Liverpool were awarded a grant for this project after several visits from our friends at the The Shippey Campaign with regards to the development. The Grant was put in place through a partnership between The Shippey Campaign, the Premier league, BT and Lords Taverners. The equipment for the sensory room has been supplied by Experia in an agreement that they have with Lords Taverners and the Premier League.

Liverpool join other clubs who are also making an effort to improve the match day experience for fans with sensory disabilities. Clubs who have installed sensory rooms at their grounds include:

Arsenal

Crystal Palace

Southampton

West Bromwich Albion

Watford

We congratulate Liverpool on creating this welcoming and soothing environment. Liverpool took advice and guidance from The Shippey Campaign,  Autism Together and had support from the Premier League and BT.
