Watford FC celebrates Level Playing Field Weeks of Action

The LPF Weeks of Action are from the 6th to the 21st April 2013. The Weeks of Action represent a real opportunity for clubs to show what they have achieved for their disabled supporters, and the wider local disabled community. There is a lot of positive work going on around the sports world and we feel that clubs should use the Weeks of Action to demonstrate what they have been doing for their disabled supporters.

But in some cases that two week period may not be convenient. This was the case at Watford FC where on the 23rd February they celebrated the LPF Weeks of Action. The club invited Special schools, Colleges, Day Centres, clubs and the Hertfordshire Player Development Centre along as guests to watch their game against Derby County. At half time they presented the Every Player Counts ‘unsung hero of the year’ award to Oliver Storey for his work as a matchday volunteer.

Level Playing Field would like to know what is happening at clubs beforehand so that we can help publicise events via the e-newsletter and on their website. As in the case of Watford FC Level Playing Field would also be delighted to hear of events being planned outside of the two week window if that allows for clubs to get involved.

Please contact Level Playing Field if you are planning any events, would like the LPF programme template or logo or have any other questions around the weeks of action via email info@levelplayingfield.org.uk or phone on 01244 893584.
