Young Derby County fan gets a surprise visit from Scott Carson

A young Derby County fan got a surprise visit from Scott Carson as part of a club initiative.

The Rams launched their season-ticket campaign last week – and it includes a new series called #MyRamsHero.

The plan was to reward longstanding and passionate supporters, with fans invited to nominate a friend or relative and share their unique story.

Derby then set up a surprise meeting with their favourite Rams player and filmed the reaction.

Macauley Jakes, who has Downs Syndrome, was nominated by his Mum and is a big supporter of the club.

Macauley’s favourite player is Carson, so the former England international took time out to go and visit the youngster at his home.

The pair played football in the garden, while Macauley was also invited to take penalties at half-time during the Championship game with Brentford.
